Sustainable Mobility
The Municipality of Larnaka, in collaboration with the Community and Cycling Police, the Foundation for Cultural Creativity, and the Youth Makerspace Larnaka of the Youth Board of Cyprus, successfully organized an educational and informative event for primary school students.
The event took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Zouchouri Square, as part of European Mobility Week 2024, with the participation of dozens of children from local schools. The aim of the event was to raise awareness among students on issues of sustainable mobility, road safety, and sustainability, contributing to the education of tomorrow’s active citizens.
During the event, several educational stations were set up, where children, divided into groups, rotated through, learning through interactive activities.
The objectives of the initiative focused on three key areas:
1. Raising awareness about road safety, with an emphasis on the safe use of bicycles.
2. Educating students on the concepts of sustainability and sustainable mobility, as well as informing them about related projects being implemented by the Municipality of Larnaka.
3. Imagining the city of the future through interactive activities that stimulated the children’s imagination and creativity, all within the framework of sustainable transportation.
