Cosmic Perspective – Larnaca Biennale
Don’t miss this talk! It will be very interesting, especially if you are interested in how art can be combined with scientific concepts. Jan Swierkowski, founder of Instytut B61, will explore the very deep impact of these interactions. It will illuminate how these contacts can be transformative, offering experiences that can reshape our perception of life and philosophy.
During his presentation, Swierkowski will explain his experimental approach, which combines art and science using cognitive metaphor theory and conceptual combinations. Additionally, it will guide us through the process of establishing successful art residencies. These residences act as collaborative spaces where artists and scientists come together to explore and translate the details of the Invisible World.
JAN ŚWIERKOWSKI is a curator, artist, futurist and astronomer. He graduated in astrophysics and completed a PhD in cultural studies. He has received grants from the Government of Portugal (FCT) and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He holds the title of Honorary Ambassador at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and is the winner of the 2017 Prize of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the Dissemination of Science in Poland.
Combine this talk with your visit on Monday the 13th to the Cinematic 360 VR experience “Stellar Entanglement” by Instytut B61, hosted at the Youth Makerspace Larnaka.
