The Youth Makerspace Larnaka team attended the opening of the annual exhibition of the program “The White Embroidery – Source of Inspiration”. This is an initiative of the Foundation for Cultural Creation for Children and Youth of Larnaca District and the Larnaca Archives – Foivos Stavridis. This year’s exhibition entitled “lefkart VI” is organized with the funding of the Deputy Ministry of Culture, the cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and the support of the Cyprus Youth Organization.

The participants of the program are informed about the historical development of Leukarite embroidery, the construction technique and the possibility of using the elements of embroidery in the applied arts. The creative reasoning of the exhibition is based on the promotion, dissemination and in general the support of the students’ works based on the idea of ​​Lefkarite embroidery. The Youth Makerspace was visited by the 23rd System of Greek Sea Scouts of Larnaca and Mazotos Municipal, where they were informed about the program and used the laser cutter equipment to carve their patterns on wood.

The exhibition is located at the Larnaca Archives – Foivos Stavridis and will last until March 21, 2024.
