Photo Competition “Our Sea”
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Photo Competition “Our Sea”, organised by the Youth Makerspace Larnaka and the Youth Board of Cyprus.
The Photo Competition was organised in the context of European Maritime Day, which is celebrated for the first year in Cyprus. All EMD activities are organised in Larnaka on 17-21 June 2021. The 20 photographs with the highest score will be exhibited at Europe Square. Congratulations to the winners and the participants.
The Photo Competition aims at promoting young people’s talent in photography, through capturing moments and images that are related to the sea. Young participants had the opportunity to explore Cyprus, discover its coastal areas and come closer to the sea.
The competition ran from 13 May until 13 June 2021. 146 photographs were submitted by 55 young people. The jury members were Iosif Hadjikyriakos from Fivos Stavrides Foundation, Louis Hadjioannou from Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, and Leda Solomonidou from the YBC.
The first 20 photographs will be exhibited at Europe Square on 17-21 June 2021
1ο Prize: Μάρκος Σπανούδης «Ο πρωτόμπαρκος» – 300 euro
2ο Prize: Εμμανουήλ Βαρνάβα «The flight of the seagulls» – 200 euro
3ο Prize: Κατρίν Μοσχοβάκη «Hidden» – 100 euro
