The photography contest “Φωτογραφί-ΖΩ” was successfully completed, attracting numerous talented photographers from all over Cyprus. Organized by the Makerspace program of the Youth Board of Cyprus, the contest aimed to promote photographic art and showcase new talents. It saw outstanding participation and a high level of creativity. A total of 126 young photographers shared their photos, capturing their daily lives, travels, explorations, hopes, and concerns for the future through their lenses.

The photography contest was held in memory of Thrasyvoulos Thrasyvoulou, Executive Secretary of the Youth Board of Cyprus, as part of the Board’s initiatives for the National Year of Youth. The contest ran from March 15, 2024, to April 15, 2024. The judging panel included Elena Gountara, photography professor; Elena Kaloutsidou, visual artist; and Stelios Papapetrou, Youth Officer of the Youth Board of Cyprus.

The award ceremony for the winners will take place at the Makers Fair 2024 technology festival, organized by Youth Makerspace Larnaka, on June 2, 2024, from 16:00 to 22:00. Additionally, the winning photos, along with a selection of notable photos chosen by the judging panel, will be displayed in printed form during a photography exhibition on the festival day.
