Wood-turning Workshop

Wood-turning is the art of using a lathe and hand tools to cut symmetrical shapes around a rotating axis. Like the potter’s wheel, the wood lathe is a simple mechanism capable of creating a variety of forms, limited only by the artist’s or craftsman’s imagination.
This hands-on introductory workshop provides personal guidance from Sahand & Navid Gholipour, allowing each participant to create their own piece on the lathe!

A waterproof or transparent material is applied to specific areas of the fabric to block the ink, creating the desired design. In this workshop, participants will print designs on cardboard and fabric tote bags. Create your own unique keepsake and learn how this technique works.

Art Workshop “The Garden of Friendship”

The Foundation for Cultural Creativity for Children and Youth, in collaboration with Kyriaki Manoli and Kyriakos Kosti, presents the program “The Garden of Friendship”, a magical journey for children inspired by Oscar Wilde’s beloved story “The Selfish Giant.”

Through artistic creation, the garden of the Selfish Giant will come to life with the active participation and care of the children, as they create flower-shaped pinwheels that will be added to a large installation at Salina Park. Through this visual arts workshop, participants symbolically contribute to changing the mindset of the giant and helping him understand the value of the environment and nature.
