EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS WITH TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT

Youth Makerspace continues the educational workshops “Workshops for Makers” for October 2025 – November 2025, promoting creativity and making through the technological equipment available in the space as well as the accompanying programs. As with every WFM series, the aim is not only education, but also encouraging makers to engage with different forms of technology in bringing their original ideas to life. In addition, the community of makers and tech lovers, as well as the Youth Makerspace program itself, is further strengthened!

Workshop Schedule

Drone Workshop

Date: 4/10

Time: 10:00–12:00

Age: 16+

Language: Greek

Instructor: Andreas Stroumpoulis

Description:

Participants will explore the world of drones through the DJI Avata, an innovative FPV drone. They will learn about its main technical features, capabilities, and modern-day applications. The workshop will conclude with hands-on practice, where participants will safely experience piloting the drone under guidance.

Photography Workshop

Date: 11/10

Time: 10:00–12:00

Description:

Participants will learn the fundamentals of photography and how to use light and composition effectively. They will also become familiar with techniques for portraits, landscapes, and creative photography. The workshop concludes with a practical photo shoot and analysis of the results.

3D Design for Laser Cutting Workshop

Date: 17/10

Description:

In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the basic functions of Rhino for 3D design, focusing on laser cutting. They will discover how to turn their ideas into precise designs ready for laser cutter production.

Halloween Craft Workshop

Description:

In this themed workshop, young makers will create unique Halloween crafts using simple materials and plenty of imagination. They will practice creative techniques for decorations and small accessories.

3D Printing Workshop – Beginners

Date: 8/11

Time: 10:00–12:00

Description:

In this beginner-level 3D printing workshop, makers will learn the basic tools of 3D design through Tinkercad. They will create a 3D model and follow the process of preparing it for printing with a 3D printer.

3D Printing Workshop – Advanced

Date: 15/11

Time: 10:00–12:00

Age: 16+

Instructor: Vasilis Mezos

Description:

In this advanced 3D design workshop, participants will explore CAD design fundamentals using Fusion 360. They will gain a deeper understanding of slicing software, learning how to adjust key parameters (layer height, wall thickness, infill, supports, temperatures, speeds, etc.) to achieve excellent results.

Photo Editing Workshop with Photoshop & Lightroom

Date: 22/11

Time: 10:00–12:00

Age: 16+

Description:

Participants will learn basic photo editing techniques using Photoshop & Lightroom. They will discover how to enhance colors, lighting, and details in their photos. The workshop will also cover the use of green screen and its applications in photo editing.

Young Engineers Workshop: Build Your Own House

Date: 29/11 & 30/11

Time: 10:00–12:00

Age: 8+

Language: Greek & English

Instructor: Maria Adamou – Youth Makerspace Team

Description:

In this two-day workshop, young makers will transform into engineers. By creating a house model, children will follow the same steps as in real construction and learn the basic principles of engineering. Using simple materials, they will discover how imagination and making combine in an interactive workshop that fosters creativity and teamwork.

Note: Participants must attend both days.
